It gives you secure online access to appointments, medical reports, prescriptions and other healthcare services, helping you manage your healthcare more easily.

This guide explains what the Portal del Paciente is, how to register and where to download the official app.

What is the Portal del Paciente?

The Portal del Paciente (Patient Portal) is the official online healthcare service provided by the Servicio Murciano de Salud (SMS), the organisation responsible for public healthcare in the Region of Murcia.

Think of it as your personal online healthcare account.

Instead of relying solely on telephone calls or visits to your local health centre, you can securely access much of your healthcare information from your computer, tablet or smartphone.

How To Register for the Murcia Health App?

There are two official ways to register for the Murcia Health App (Portal del Paciente).

If you already have a recognised digital identification method, such as a Digital Certificate or Cl@ve, you can create your account online through the official Portal del Paciente website.

This is the quickest option because your identity is verified electronically and you can register immediately without visiting your health centre.

If you don’t have a Digital Certificate, you can still create an account using an activation code (código de alta) provided by the Servicio Murciano de Salud.

Step 1 – Obtain your activation code
You can request an activation code in one of three official ways:

  • At the reception desk of your local health centre.
  • By telephone.
  • Online using a recognised Digital Certificate.

When visiting your health centre, it’s a good idea to take:

  • Your TIE card or your NIE and passport.
  • Your Murcia Health Card (Tarjeta Sanitaria), which contains your CIP (CARM) number.

Step 2 – Create your account

Once you have your activation code, visit the official Portal del Paciente website and select «Create account with activation code» (Crear cuenta con código de alta).

You’ll need to enter:

  • Your activation code supplied by the Servicio Murciano de Salud.
  • Your CIP (CARM) number from your Murcia Health Card.
  • Your email address.
  • Your mobile telephone number.
  • A password of your choice.

You’ll then receive a verification email to activate your account.

Once your account has been verified, you can sign in using either your NIE/TIE number or your CARM number, together with the password you created during registration.
